Investing.com – Germany: Stocks ended the session lower on Wednesday; the decrease in , , and the sectors contributed to this decrease.
At the close in Frankfurt, the index was down 0.50%, while the index was down 0.33% and the index was down 0.12%.
The best performance of the session for the index is attributed to the title Sartorius AG Vz (ETR: ) was up 1.97% or 6.90 points to trade at 357.20. In the second position we find Qiagen NV (ETR: ), which gained 0.86% or 0.40 points to trade at 46.80. The title Vonovia SE (ETR:) completes this top three with an increase of 0.69% or 0.15 points to close the session on 01/22.
Dr. Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:) was the worst performer of the session, losing 1.55% or 1.46 points to trade at 92.96 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG (ETR: ) declined 1.49% or 0.43 points to 28.07. For its part, Siemens Energy AG (ETR: ) lost 1.47% or 0.26 points to trade at 17.46 at the close.
The best results of the MDAX index go to Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) which gains 1.60% at a price of 193.25, Scout24 AG (ETR: ) up 1.44% to 47.23 and Carl Zeiss Medi (ETR: ) rose 1.25% to close at 117.30.
The worst performers were K&S AG (ETR: ), which fell 2.97% to 18.59 at the close. Wacker Chemie (ETR: ), which lost 2.24% to 119.75 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR: ), down 1.69% to 61.15 at the close.
The best performers of the TecDAX index go to Sartorius AG Vz (ETR: ), which gains 1.97% to a price of 357.20, Carl Zeiss Medi (ETR: ) up 1.25% to 117.30 and Qiagen NV (ETR: ), which gained 0.86% to close at 46.80.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR: ), which fell 3.01% to 66.05 at the close. CompuGroup Medical AG (ETR: ) which lost 2.75% to 35.30 and Wait AG (ETR: ), down 2.65% to close at 22.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered advancing stocks on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange with 489 values to 206 and 63 steady.
The Varta AG (ETR:) stock dipped to a three year low after decreasing 2.65% or 0.60 points to trade at 22.05.
The index, which measures the implied volatility of options on the DAX index, lost 0.39% to 20.67.
On the other hand, gold for delivery in February fell 0.38% or 6.95 points to $1.00 a troy ounce. Among other commodities, Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.18% or 0.94 points at $78.59 a barrel, while Brent for March delivery lost 1.30% or 1.10 points at a price at $83.58 per barrel.
EUR/USD was flat 0.06% at 1.06, while EUR/GBP was flat 0.26% at 0.88.
The US Dollar Index rose 0.12% to 104.01.
